  1. We just got back from a DCL 4 night cruise on June 5th.  We had a blast.  The staff treats you extremely well!

There will be many opportunities to greet the Disney Characters so watch for times and specific places.

You don't say if your child is a boy or a girl, I would suggest getting a pirate outfit for the Pirates on the Carribean deck party.  Not only for the deck party but for the dinner too.

They sell them on the ship but of course it's pricey. Or if your child prefers, a princess outfit.  The younger kids were wearing their favorite ones in the evenings.

Our girls are older so they were involved in the Teen activities.  But talking with parents of younger children, Disney takes real good care of them.  Lots of activities and very well staffed.

I would suggest eating breakfast in one of the sit down resaurants instead of the buffet.  The buffet wasn't our favorite place to eat for breakfast.

The lunch on Castaway Cay was very good and it's included in your cost so don't skip it.

The snack bars had a wide variety of food for quick bites.  Very quick and very good.

    Hope this helps a bit

    Have fun!

  2. Disney Cruise Line is the best out there, IMHO.

I've been on eight cruises, six of which have been Disney. I have not been disappointed by any of my DCL experiences.

I'd suggest soaking up every minute. Three nights goes by incredibly quickly. I believe the only port you'll be going to is Castaway Cay. The island is amazing. The atmosphere, food, and activities are all wonderful.

Your five-year-old will have a great time in the Oceaneer Club, and the adults will have a great time in the adult areas. The staff is one of the best parts about the DCL experience. They're so well-trained and so caring. You get to know them extremely well, especially on the longer cruises.

  3. whoa! That's cool cruise. I'm single but been to Disney Cruise with my clan. Kids were with us. Oh boy, they had a blast. My cousin's kids had problem only in food during the cruise. If your child is picky in his food, you need to bring foods for him. You may ask the staff to reheat the food for you. Talk to your travel agent if the cruise ship can prepare the food your kid likes. Bring medications, if any of you is taking it. They have medical staff on board, by the way. If your child get sea sick, you can ask for a medicine.

The ship has all kinds the kids needs and wants. No need to bring activity stuffs, maybe a few, for him to do inside your cabin. No need to pack heavily, they have a laundry service. But you'll save money if you bring extra clothes, though. Bring your digicam, videocam, extra batteries, chargers for your gadgets and laptop so you can save  and view your pics right away. But they do have a business center wherein guest can do internet etc... Have fun!
