  1. Hola!  I live just down the block from where you are staying.  I am a young single canadian girl and I walk to town by myself day and night without any concerns.  The town you will be staying in is called San Jose del Cabo.  It is the sleepier version of Cabo San Lucas, which is about 20 minutes away.  You will be right on a beach (have you looked at their website)  The beach is called Costa Azul and its a bit rough for swimming, but you can arrange to go to the swimming/snorkelling bays of Chileno and Santa Maria if that is your thing.  The resort has lovely pools, so no loss.

The town is cute and very pretty.  Great photo ops.  Since the resort is newly opened, you will find everything new and nice.  But you will also have to expect new staff and new glitches to iron out.  Not a big deal....you are on vacation!  It is also a timeshare complex, so you may need to go to the seminars.

Mid October is still very warm and humid.  You will probably do best with shorts/tshirts and that type of thing.  Maybe light cotton pants....jackets/sweaters and jeans will be too hot.

Go to www.loscabosguide.com to see the assortment of things you can do while you are there.

The Mayan is also owns the town golf course, so there is that option.

    Have a good holiday.

  2. The New Mayan Palace is in San Jose Del Cab  ( a little town with not much to do) about 25 miles (40 minute drive)  from Cabo San Lucas.   If you want to see Cabo San Lucas your going to need a car.    Rent from Enterprise at the airport.

Go on a dinner cruise with the "Cabo Rey"  this is a must do.

Every time I go to Cabo I go on the dinner cruise on the Cab Rey.  You board the yacht from  the Marina in downtown Cabo.

Visit Medano beach and eat at the many restaurants.   The Mango Deck is a good start!

Don't forget to visit "Squid Row"  in downtown Cabo with Sammy Hagar's bar the "Cabo Wabo"

    Enjoy,
