  1. I have been there years ago. Been to many places and they change by the years. Dont know what you looking for? But 30 years ago it was ok.

  2. The north sea area is my favorite place. My mother was from an island in the German North Sea. It is called Pellworm We used to go there every summer. Most of the north Frisian land I remember  like this: Water, Wind, Sun,Green Grass, beautiful old Houses, Holstein Cows. If you like You can check out this island by going to Pellworm.de (online.) They have an English language button. See for yourself.

    Hope you like it.

  3. I have not i want to go there know. I know that this is fore people that have goon to the north sea in Germany. So for that i am sry. i just want to go after hering how fun it is over the pond:)

  4. The North Sea is huge. England and Scotland to the West, Scandinavia to the North East, Holland / Belgium / Germany are more SE with France (just) getting in the picture to the South. Each part has its own beauty and benefits.

  5. The north sea is exciting, cause there is wadden sea with miles and miles of mud flats, where u can wandering on during ebb-tide!

  6. Wilhelmshaven is an industrial seaport. It hosts oil industry and is the port where the German navy is harboured.

You can reach Wilhelmshaven by train, but if you want to get around, renting a car is strongly recommended. Public transport is sparse in the area.

If you have a choice, book accomodation in Schillig or Hooksiel, about 45 minutes by car from Wilhelmshaven. Schillig has a very long sand beach and is very tidy. :)

The islands (Norderney, for example) are also worth a visit.

Be warned: the North Sea is a place were many Germans go for summer vacation, so you might have problems finding a room. Or a place at the beach, for the matter. Also, in the summer rooms are very expensive. Around the beaches, restaurants also expensive.

Most of the coast has Deiche (dams) and no beach. You also have to pay mandatory "Kurtaxe" - a "regeneration fee" of around 2,50 € per day for your stay and to get entrance to the beaches. On the bright side, the Kurtaxe also makes some entrances cheaper. You don't have to pay Kurtaxe in Wilhelmshaven, because the air's not as good there as further north.

North Sea water isn't like Atlantic or Pacific water, but more like a lake's water by color. Waves are also not as high at the main land shores, but you might be luckier on the islands.

  7. I lived in Bremerhaven for almost three years.  It rains, and rains, and rains (so be prepared).

My favorite place?  Hamburg - lots to see and do in the port city that never sleeps.

  8. Very nice out there. Look at the web www.wilhelmshaven.de

  9. I have been there.

In fact, I am studying in at the Northsea. In a town which is just about 45 Min. away from Wilhelmshaven.

Every now and then I am going to Wilhelmshaven just for the fun of it or to watch a Handballgame.

"Wilhelmshaven is situated at the western coast of the Jadebusen, which is a bay of the North Sea with a population of about 83,000.

In Wilhelmshaven there is an aquarium with native animals from the North Sea, the information centre of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park. The town's landmark is the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Brücke ("Emperor Wilhelm Bridge"), which crosses an inlet of the Jadebusen. It was built in 1908; with a length of 159 m it was once the greatest swing bridge of Europe. The main exhibits of the Navy Museum are the former German Navy destroyer Mölders (D186), a submarine, and some smaller warships as well as an exhibition of German naval history from the 19th century onwards."

Furthermore, there is a first league (Bundesliga) Handball-Team situated in Wilhelmshaven. (www.whvhandball.de)
