Our WES1384SMSS's beeper is so loud that you can hear it clearly throughout the house - not a good thing when family members are getting up in the morning at different times. I've wrapped some 1/2" thick hot water pipe insulation material around the transducer but it doesn't help much.
I've thought of removing the transducer, but I don't want to do away with the beeper completely - just quiet it down. Besides, I don't know how it might affect performance otherwise.
A variable volume would be perfect, but there is no access to a lead I could tap in order to wire in a volume pot.
Any suggestions? BTW, this model is sold only at WalMart, and info is lacking on the internet. But a GE JES1384SF looks similar, although it is 1100 watts compared to our 1000 watts.
Thanks
