Beer Brats...ok for kids??? QUICK 10 PTS!?

Im boiling beer brats right now for dinner. Is it ok to feed them to my kids ages 7-16????

I was told the alcohol evaporates er....???

oh yeah....my parents used to make beer brats for me and my brother since I was 5....the alcohol TOTALLY evaporates out...and just leaves the flavor to enhance the sausage....they wont get drunk off them....

it will still taste like the beer you boil them in ; but they won't get any of the actual alcohol . it evaporates .

Beer has a VERY low alcohol content as it is, plus most of it DOES evaporate, you should be fine.

yeah theres no alcohol in them it's cooked out....I'm pretty sure they soak them in beer or something and alcohol evaporates quickly anyway

Yes it is fine! I'm 13 and just had beer brats 2 days  ago and I'm living!

The alchol cooks out of food! It doesn't really even taste like beer to me! i know what beers smells like so!

The alcohol in alcoholic beverages is ethyl alcohol. In its pure form, ethyl has a boiling point of 173F. Since the boiling point of water is 212F one should expect that the ethyl can be boiled off before the water is completely removed from the cooking sauce.  In a pan (baked or grilled) after 30 minutes, only about 15% of the original alcohol content should remain.

even if it doesnt evaporate.. its not like they're gonna get drunk off eating beer brats... when alcohol is used in cooking, the amount isn't enough to be a bad thing. your kids will be fine, and no, you won't be arrested for it.
