Question:

Before I become an Avon Lady....

I am thinking about selling Avon just for a little something extra to do, and if I make a real little, or a real lot, that's fine. {The more the merrier, though! 8-) } What I really want to know is this- The District Manager told me I do not need a Debit or Credit Card to be a rep. So how on Earth does placing orders and paying work? Will I need a credit card? Also, is paying to sell online a good investment? I'm thinking about doing that. Any other advice on how to start off on a positive note? Thank you!

  1. The customers will give you their order, you turn it in, the company sends you the order, you give the people their order (ALWAYS  collect the $ before you give them their order, never drop it off & collect the $ later) & collect their money. Then you send a portion of the money in; you keep whatever amount they (Avon) tells you & that's how you make your money. You don't need a credit/debit card, you can pay by check or money order.

  2. Avon was not good for me financially, I had a good customer base, but I made no money in fact I always seemed to have to pay Avon.

  3. Avon has Quick pay....its an electronic check payment and the money is deducted from your checking account.  Or you could actually send in a check but I don't recommend that as it takes too long for the payment to get posted to your account and your next order may go on hold until the check has been received.

  4. you will submit the order and they will send the stuff. You collect the money and with the next order send a payment for the previous one from the money you collected. The difference between the invoice and what you collect is your pay.

you'll only need a check or money order

i don't think selling online would be worth it-i love avon but would not order it online-that's just me. just distribute your catalogues around. they have such a nice mix of products that there is always something new and different to generate sales.

  5. Wow!  That's a great thing to get everything answered before you get started.

Now to sign up you need $10 in cash if your signing up personally with another representative but if you sign yourself up online which is another option then that's when you would need either a credit or debit card to fill out the online application.

Now to pay Avon when your paying for your orders you could do so with credit card, money order or personal check.

Whatever pay option you chose is up to you.

    Hope that help!
