  1. The American populations' general consensus before Jordan came along was Kareem Abdul-Jabar. I believe He never really surpassed Wilt Chamberlain though.

  2. wilt was only good because he was taller than everybody else.

i think bill russel or larry bird were the best.

  3. pistol pete maravich or Dr. J.

  4. Oscar Robertson, the triple double machine.

  5. wilt chamberlain and larry bird dominated nba

  6. Jerry "the logo" West.

Some arguements may be made for Pistol Pete but because of his bad public image (much like Kobe today) He doesn't get nearly the recognition he deserves.

Wilt and Russell will undoubtedly get named as well but these guys were so much bigger than anyone else, they were expected to do what they did.  Not exactly fair but hey that's life.

  8. Wilt Chamberlain had a greater impact on the game than Micheal Jorden.  As one of the only 7  footers back than he could'nt be stopped.  Records: most points in a game (over 100!), most rebounds in a game 55

  9. Truthfully Wilt is the greatest because he saved the NBA. Do the research its true. The NBA had record low ticket sales until Wilt's 100 point game that sparked the comeback and establishment of the NBA again. Wilt averaged 50 points one season being fouled all the time and being triple sometimes even quadruple teamed.

Don't get me wrong respect is due to Bill Russell, Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, Pistol Pete,Magic, Larry and etc.

  10. Oscar Robertson, the best, the greatest, my idol.

  11. I would have to go with Oscar Robertson or Magic Johnson.  Mainly due to the fact that they are two of the most complete players in NBA history.  Wilt Chamberlain was a stat w***e.  He was a great player that showed the impact a great big man can have, but he would not have the same impact today as he did back then.

  12. my choice is pete maravich

  13. wilt chamberlain, he was MVP his rookie season!

  14. Bill Russell was the greatest team player ever.

    11 rings.

    Wilt was most dominate statistically

  15. its the great bill russel that has 11 rings

  16. kwame brown or dj mbenga

  17. Wilt.
