By reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open in 2010, Andy Murray broke a 33-year drought for Great Britain. John Lloyd reached the last four in 1977, and in fact, went all the way to the final, but though tantalisingly close to the title, eventually lost the match against Vitas Gerulaitis in five sets.
