  1. build your confidence!!! get cocky wit it!

  2. How much sparring have you done? Sparring is practice fighting and that should build up your confidence. If your manager or trainer feels your ready then I think you must be.

  3. Anyone here who says "You aren't a boxer if you're scared" is full of it. Either they've never boxed or they are bullshitting to make themselves seem tough. Really, they are just showing how naive they are. There is NOTHING wrong with being scared before getting in the ring with someone who has been trained to knock you out.

That said, you can't let that fear rule you. It's just another thing you have to fight through. If you're a boxer, you know how it is... being in the gym for hours, throwing punches till your arms are going to fall off, doing conditioning work when you feel like you can't do it anymore, running when you don't think you can go any further or push yourself any harder. Getting through the fear is just one more thing. No boxer is fearless, but true boxers can fight through that and fight anyway.

Just keep telling yourself that you can do it. Stand in the mirror before the fight and just think about all the work you've done to get to that fight and know that you are ready. Hopefully, you trust your trainer; they aren't going to put you in any situations you can't reasonably handle.

  4. I am one too .... You stretch and warm up !

  5. If you are scared then you should not be boxing.  Being nervous is normal but never scared.

  6. Have you considered changing professions?

I don't know any pilots that are afraid to fly.  You get where I'm going?

  7. Be confident.

    Don't worry about it.

    You'll do fine, honey.

I know you don't believe me, but I promise. Either you'll rock or you just weren't meant for it.

  8. put Vaseline on you checks so if they punch you in the face it will slide off

  9. don't think bout nothin, keep your eye on the prize

  10. you're not a boxer. if you were a boxer, your trainer would have gone through all this for you. if you are a boxer and dont have a trainer, then you're still not a boxer since not having a trainer will handicap you so badly that you'll essentially be just a punching bag with legs

  11. It's just a case of going out there and doing it. Also very importantly to look confident. This is something that you have to conquer and it will help you in other areas of life.
