  1. Uhhh

so much wrong with that, that I've no idea where to even start.

so ill go with:  Requiring someone to serve in the military to become an American Citizen defeats the primary tenant of our nation's society.  Also, I think you'd find that most people would be against conscription into an army with a recent conflict history as dubious as the United States.

  2. Yes but dont till any one about this

  3. not true, you do not get to be a citizen for 2 years military service

freeloaders and welfare recipients would make horrible soldiers, they are better served by simply being cut off

  4. No and a illegal should not be given citizenship for it either, if the want to fight, fight to better their own countries!!!!!

    Report and Deport!!!

  5. Not true for the US.

However, during time of war,  Any immigrant who enlists with the United States Armed Forces can apply for expedited naturalization. Because the United States is in a time of war, an immigrant—documented or undocumented—who serves in active-duty status may apply for expedited naturalization through military service.  Immigrants who enlist during a time of war can apply for naturalization after only one day of service and have the citizenship application fee waived.

In general, to apply for naturalization through military service, you must meet the other requirements for naturalization, including showing that you have "good moral character," pass the English literacy and civics test, and swear attachment to the principles of the U.S. constitution by taking the Oath of Allegiance.

Generally, a person who is subject to a final order of removal is not allowed to naturalize. However, this rule does not apply to immigrants who naturalize through military service.

To apply for naturalization through military service in a time of war, you must serve in active-duty status and honorably complete your term of service. If you do not honorably complete your term of service, you will lose your citizenship.

What I think you might be inferring though, is that during a war and compulsory DRAFT such as was the case during  the Vietnam War, "undocumented immigrants on welfare, must serve in the military"?? Is that what you are suggesting?

If so, do you think they have the moral and ethical fiber required to be a "good soldier" fighting for the cause? Would you depend upon and trust them if your life depended upon it?

    Not me!

  6. I think that would be a great way to earn citizenship.

  7. That's not true.....people do not need to serve in the military, they just need to wait at least 5 years.

  8. What country are you talking about?  Nobody in the US is required to serve in the Military to get citizenship. That is only in Starship Troopers (and maybe Israel).

You assume that everybody on Welfare are freeloaders. Most are working poor. Most only get medical assistance.  Even before Welfare reform, the average family was only on welfare for 2 years.  I guess you consider military families to be freeloaders as well?  Many of them receive welfare benefits.

Have you considered the millions of dollars given to freeloading corporations?  Millions, yes, millions.  It's called Corporate Welfare and it is a huge chunk of change.  Pathetically, the companies receiving the most are the ones that are shipping jobs overseas.

Those who do receive citizenship through war are still in their own countries!  See Julie S's post.
