  1. If there are millions of fools accepting a practice, why should a sane person follow them.

Religion is not a group activity. It is a lonely path to be followed. A teacher may guide you or help you at best.

If you follow your own suggestion you are doomed to to mediocre accomplishment at best. To achieve excellence you have to blaze your own path.

  2. I did. I inherited no religion from my parents.

I researched at least a dozen religions on the surface and a half a dozen in depth before finding Wicca. Before settling on my specific tradition within Wicca I was very familiar with a few other traditions and had spent several years studying the religion.

I am not an expert on other religions, but I am fairly familiar with quite a few and I certainly have spent years looking at my own religion. Wicca does not demand blind faith. It is expected that a person will do a lot of critical study and thinking. Those wishing to blindly accept anything others say will not find Wicca works very well for them - at least they won't find themselves well accepted within the Wiccan community.

  3. I am going to be a JW this Dec, I love asking questions to my bible teacher,  Its a good thing he has 6 different bibles other than the NWT.  lol

  4. I read and studied every bible and religion there is and Satanism and the Satanic Bible was the only one that made sense in every single way

  5. I read and tried everything but none of them made any sense at all.  Then I found the Satanic Bible and suddenly everything made sense.

  6. What are the genesis of such questions? Christianity and Islam are two religions in race to raise there numbers either by breeding like pigs or converting others to their faiths by lure or coersion. They have ceased to be religions. They are political entities.

Craving for enlightenment comes to few, condusive circumstances for such enlightenment come to still fewer, and enlightenment comes to a rare few in a milanium. It is not necessary that the enlightenment would fall only on some one from the religion with the largest following.

  7. Me...that's what I did, and continue to do (study the Bible).  I haven't had to study in depth many religions because when I recognize a man-made doctrine, it shows me that religion is false.

I am very thankful that while I was growing up, my parents taught me to study, not to take anything for granted in my understanding of the Bible, not to take anyone's word for it, and to keep "making sure of what is acceptable"....

I did not inherit my beliefs from my parents.  They taught me...I went  my own way after leaving home...and then when I was ready, I began to study the Bible with a view of finding out God's righteous requirements and hope for the future... and I saw the hypocrisy in other religions.

As an adult, I do have the same beliefs as my parents, but it was not for any other reason than I PERSONALLY believe it is the truth...

  8. Those who convert to any religion , do nt do so , becuse of thier choice of the philosophy and the character of that religion. They do so for convenience only.many did it for money , jobs and other previleges .Durig the Muslim rules ( particularly during he reign of Aurangazeeb), many poor people in teh lower rungs of the caste system took to Islam under threat of sword or penal taxation.( Jezzia - a poll tax ordained under the Koran , on non-Muslims .)

Not a single man resorts to conversion simply for the sake of the philosophy or moral of any religion) Either they continue to be in a particular religion just because they are born of parents belonging to a particular religion), or they teke to conversio for the sake of some previleges, consideration  and convenience .

  9. I grew up Catholic but when I was old enough to learn and decide for my self I did....learning about other religions and then deciding that I wanted to stay with and believe in the Catholic creeds.

  10. I did. I researched countless religions before deciding on Wicca

  11. Nowadays everybody knows about every religion. But their egos never permit them to admit.

People are very sensible while going abroad for an employment. If they carry their God's photo they will say to customs abroad, it is my uncle, grandfather etc. They have senses to understand a God can not be photographed. Still they worship the idols.

  12. not many, actually. i guess this is mainly because people are given their religion when they're at a young age where they don't sit down and compare and stuff. after that it's programmed into them till they are in their 20's so they don't really bother reasoning.

  13. I did, I was raised Catholic. I walked away from God and the church for almost 10 years.

I looked at other faiths and found them lacking as to what I was searching for.

When I started studying my Bible as opposed to cursory flip throughs I found the truth staring right at me. For me Christ is who He claimed Himself to be. It's the one truth in my life I have absolutely no doubt of.

  14. Very few do.

Most only follow the Bible by what there religious leaders tell them it says.

The nice thing about being a Jehovah's Witness is that we study the Bible completely.

What we discover is not based on a certain faith or teaching which makes it nice because then you don't have to bend scripture to make it fit with what you believe.

So what you end up with is a relationship with God based as closely as possible to how the First century Christians served God.

  15. I'll be honest, my answer is 'sorta' because I did choose Christianity at the age of 10, but as a young adult I had a crisis which shook my faith to its core.  That is when I started researching in order to decide if I wanted to remain a Christian.

That is also when I had a few 'close encounters' with God.  Between the the research I did at that time and the experiences with walking with the Almighty and His Anointed One, I'm sold on Christ.  Christianity in many forms is just a way to stay connected with other believers so we can build each other up.

Relationship with The God is where it's at!

  16. I'm going to say very few people... the only people I know who are objective in their religious views are people who chose their religion after doing much research. I was raised Catholic, and after doing more research into it in highschool, I realised that it was not what I believed, no matter how much I wanted to.

  17. I looked at a lot of them for many years.  I decided on Mormonism.  But there are so many beautiful religions, and I made a lot of friends in my search.

  18. Many converts to Judaism have. Since they do not proselytize, most converts must have chosen that religion.

ADD: I have a theory that many of the Muslim converts are actually former (born) Christians that want a one-god with some balls (not all about peace and forgiveness).

  19. I used to be Catholic and now I have tried to eliminate the brainwash and learn about other ideas. Right now I am agnostic, because I don't think the answer is out there.
