  1. Before philosophy, there was light, not darkness.

We would have just existed. There would be no wars since we won't have anything to think or fight about. If someone took your food, you won't recognize that as a bad thing, since you cannot decipher the good thing anyways.

  2. Darkness started it all before everything began. Philosophy come into existence after all these myths. Humans have used their reasons to support the existence of everything.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

  3. RELIGION IS NOT AN EARLY FORM OF PHILOSOPHY.  The Randian statement provided by Yoai Oui contains a tragic contradiction which renders the entire quote invalid.  Early PHILOSOPHY is an early form of philosophy.  It is an entity in-and-of itself.  The Randian quote goes on to imply this, e'en immediately after identifying religion as the early form of philosophy.

Her statement is therefore dissappointingly weak, unless she meant it to be conveyed per the Straussian sense, which is HIGHLY doubtful.  She was too waek a thinker to have even perceived the value in glamming on to him.

In fact, one of the halmarks of philosophy is the quest for a seperation or a differentiation by mankind to his ties with religion.

Now that the inferior use of philosophy has been dealt with, an answer to your question:

    ...YES...

  4. no darkness no

meaningful homosapien society existed for 40,000 years prior to recorded history. philosophy is only known of during recorded history but during those entire 40,000 years spoken language existed and philosophies must've developed as part of the passed mythos holding those burgeoning societies together - we just don't know them as no oral record remains and writing was not developed yet.

  5. This, from the most ardent atheist of the 20th Century:

"...you must remember that religion is an early form of philosophy, that the first attempts to explain the universe, to give a coherent frame of reference to man’s life and a code of moral values, were made by religion, before men graduated or developed enough to have philosophy. And, as philosophies, some religions have very valuable moral points. They may have a good influence or proper principles to inculcate, but in a very contradictory context and, on a very—how should I say it?—dangerous or malevolent base: on the ground of faith."

“Playboy’s Interview with Ayn Rand,” March 1964.
