  1. So, pretty much they're acting like every other religion?

    How shocking!

  2. Dear Nina,

I knew that they CLAIMED to be the only ... because I grew up hearing my mom make similar statements.  It really confused me because I saw that Mom followed a double standard which totally went against what I learned about Jesus in the church I went to with my dad.  In Sunday school I learned that Jesus is a respecter of faith, not of persons.

I had a hunch about the watchtower when I was growing up which was confirmed when I read the Bible from cover-to-cover for the first time 16 years ago.  Reading Deuteronomy 18:20-22 and other similar verses made it abundantly clear to me that the watchtower is not speaking God's Word.

R/S has simply put me in touch with other like minded people.

    For His glory,

    JOYfilled

  3. YES, but never believed it, Jesus Christ is the only true channel to man.

  4. Don't be troubled by this; at one time the Jews did the same thing to Jesus. Do as Jesus told the Apostles to do: Shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.

  5. I did know that.  I've been learning more about this group for the past couple of months.  I also know this group brags about following Jesus more closely than any other.  I was shocked when I came here and saw that the majority of the witnesses on here are rude, insulting, and arrogant.

One of the only witnesses who consistently answers respectfully and politely is Hannah J. Paul.  The majority of others should take lessons from her.  Or better yet, from Jesus...who they claim to be following so closely!

  6. We have a proverb in Spanish that says people tend to boast of the very things they lack.

Watchtower isn't the only one. All cults claim to be "the one true church." It's a prime indicator of error.

  7. Yes, maybe not exactly in those words but during conversations with them since I was young, I figured out they think that.

  8. "Believe those who seek the truth; doubt those who find it."

    -Andre Gide

I agree with Anna and JOYfilled!

  9. I grew up as a JW and I was always told that I was so privileged to be among the only ones to have the truth.  That to ME, even at an early age, seemed SO assuming!  I KNEW there was good people in ALL religions and it was very disturbing seeing the pictures of people dying at Armeggedon along with their children ....simply because they didn't become "Jehovah's Witnesses".  Then in contrast you see pics of JWs ONLY in a paradise playing with lions and tigers!....sugar coated tactics!....but us exJWs aren't supposed to say anything!

  10. Yes, I did.  And I'd already come to the conclusion that they do not have "the truth" as they claim.  But I've seen so much more evidence presented since I came to Y!A R&S.

    Chuck, I'm LOVING that quote!!!

  11. why should anyone care what the watchtower has to say regarding anything?

beware of false teachers and false prophets...

  12. yep

    and i also know

    kermit the frog was green

let me know how this matters

    and quit repeating yourself

    with questions

    ask to get answers

not make statements against others with hostility

  13. Yes I knew this from studying about the pseudo Christian groups.  Their are three factors that they all have in common.

    1) They all deny the deity of Christ.

    2) They all teach that salvation is earned.

    3) They all teach their church is the one true church and that no one outside their "organization" can be saved.

Any Christian who has read the Bible knows that the body of Christ is the true church, not some religious organization.

  14. the only way to god is through jesus christ
