Or do you only find out about the information and save the thrill and grandeur of seeing the sight when you get there?

I think, saving is better, because I wasn't shocked at the sight of Grand Canyon because I've seen postcards images so much.

  1. yeah all the time!!

  2. yes, I read the information first. It is just like you read the text book before you go to class. When teacher lectures, you know what it is.

  3. i find out all the information before i go. For me this helps me plan what sights i have to see when i am there.? Actually the sights are more beautiful  in actuality than the post cards or web sights can portray.

  4. You have a strong point, though I feel I can enjoy a city more if I know its general layout (getting lost is fun, but can lead to a lot missed if you're on a schedule).

It is amazing to see famous art in person that has only been seen in books.  I was in the Uffizi when I unexpectedly saw Boticelli's Birth of Venus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Birth_o...

and my jaw just about hit the floor.  I already knew a bit about it so the experience was enriched.
