  1. U can limit what you give aid to, I take it that you live outside U.S. as you referred to "pounds". I give and encourage others to give, to St. Luke's Children's Hospital as I know the money will go to people who need it, children getting cures or treatments that they otherwise could not get. Take care of local things first. The world will keep spinning......

  2. it'll go on forever.  thats why i stick with giving money to individuals in need.  at least i know theyre getting all of it.

  3. sadly what u say is very true

  4. I don't begrudge the workers pal , HAVE YOU SEEN IT AND DONE ANY CHARITY WORK or are you sitting in front of a tv and making comments. Sorry for being so hard but don't knock charities untill you have walked in their shoes and actually see what they do.

On the other hand when I watch tv I really get annoyed with so much given to poor countries but the money ends up with the crooked officials

  5. if africa used condoms and stopped breeding then aids and poverty wouldnt be a problem.

if i had 10 kids and they all had aids and were starving to death i wouldnt have sympathy id be jailed!!

  6. Well, at least these are voluntary, unlike the taxes we pay.

  7. I'm sorry to disagree, but you seem to have got the wrong impression of charity.

People don't give to charity expecting to see an immediate change in the world.  You should give if you feel able to contribute a tiny amount because tiny amounts build up.  We all know that moving money about is expensive - look at how much banks charge - but that shouldn't put you off trying to help those less fortunate.  We all know that  there are unscrupulous people out there who take more than their share - but that's a truth of human nature - and it seems strange to deny the worst off some comfort because you are afraid that others might get a an unfair share.

I'm sure that those suffering in many parts of the world would be entitled to think that you have an unfair share of the world's wealth - why should you deny to others what you have for yourself?

The world isn't perfect, but if you have any feelings for others, don't use that as an excuse to avoid giving a helping hand where you can.
