Question:

Beginner's boxing advice and best place to buy a cheap punch bag?

Hey,

I'm 18 and have recently really started to become interested in boxing and boxing-related fitness training. I'm looking to buy a cheap ("cheap" being an important word) punch bag kit, with the brackets and chains included. I would also be interested in looking at a free-standing punch bag, or a wall bag.

It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could suggest or link me to a good place to buy what I'm looking for. If you have any stories or advice on getting started, please also leave a comment because it would be great to read what you have to say.

Thanks a lot,

Mark

  4. You can use an army duffel bag filled with sand... (make sure you use gloves)

    Check Craiglist in your area.

    Advice, keep your hands up.

  5. try craigslist.org/about/sites.html in your area if not try

    ringside.com or everlast.com/

  6. if you are looking for sports bags check here http://www.imprintedsportBags.com

since cheap is the important word :)

    have fun and get fit.

ps , try this, get an old broom handle, get some string about 3ft add some wight to it, hold it out stright in front of you and twist it with your hands, pull the wight up to the top, now let it down very slow, your wrist and arms will feel it,

  8. Hi

for a cheap punching bag try ebay, or if you want something new www.titleboxing.com or www.ringside.com. Avoid freestanding bags. Thats just expensive c**p that does not work well and that doesn't allow you to move properly.

I started boxing at the age of 21. It was the best decision I ever made. It was a real physical gain and also helped me to manage stress before my bar-exam.

    Good luck with your start.

Please excuse any grammar error, but english is not my first language.

  9. i thing the best place to buy one is academy. I saw one for 35 dallars thats cheap. well good luck in boxing its fun just train hard i have a boxing mach on the 29th.
