  1. I haven't done ballet for almost six years but I think you should start with classes and after when it is done, you should do it on DVD. If you think it is a stupid answer. Do not blame me> :-)

  2. i think in a class because its hands on and the teacher can help you if you need help and you'll also learn more and make fiend even maybe for a lifetime

  3. what you need to do is have lessons froma professional you will be taught how to stand and how to do all your positions correctly this not a profession to learn off a dvd

  4. Learning ballet via dvd is not the best idea. If you want to learn correct body placement and protect yourself from injury you really need to study with an experienced teacher.

  5. definately take classes!  if you take actuall classes you can get one on one attention and the teacher can show you how to do things physically and properly..

  6. To me personally, learning Ballet on DVD is a whole differnet experience than learning it with a teacher.

If you're learning on a DvD... and you're doing it wrong (no offense of any kind) then you have no one (teacher of some kind) saying it's wrong , then you could get in a habit of doing in wrong.

If you happen to live in the Bay Area, California there is a ballet school where you can take adult classes beginning-intermediate.

    thye website is below.

  7. Ballet is all about poise and balance. It is also about posture, something only a professional could teach you. It is also important to start off with a strong foundation, so if you would like to continue in the art, you should really go to classes.

    Hope this helped!!

  8. Please go to class! following an instructor on a dvd is NOT a good idea.
