Beginner dirt bikes?

Im intrested in getting a dirt bike some time soon and i wanted to know what would be a good choice for a first time rider. Im about 5'11" and 185 lbs. I want something that has some power and is durable and I dont look too small on. I was thinking about maybe a Honda XR250R, but I dont know if thats the best choice. I would prefer for the price to be 2500 or less used. But any help is useful, so please help me with my descision, thankyou.

The xr is a great choice. But maybe you should look at the Yamaha and Honda 230's. To answer your other question KTMs are great but they dont make a good beginner bike.

Actually the XR250 would be a great choice. They were rock solid bikes that run forever. In that price range you want to stay away from motocross bikes and stick to either an air cooled 4 stroke like the XR or even a nice used Kawasaki KDX200 or 220.

175 is a good bike to start on,plenty of power and sits up well.250 is also well suited but for the used price its gonna be hard to find a good bike at that range   good luc
