Beginner guitar?

i am starting to play the gutiar and i was wondering what a good brand would be and electric or acoustic? (i would prefer electric but if acoustics better to start on.) also about how much would one cost?

i started on an electric, i got an ibanez for my first guitar. Its an RG modle and was around £300, but an decent guitar can be bought for £150-300.

these days start witan electric copy , say of a stratocaster which is very in-expensive after you get your direction together move up to a more expensive model
