Question:

Beginner jogging advice?

I just started running today as a way to lose weight and feel better. I didn't get very far but felt great! I was wondering if any seasoned runners had advice for me... such as proper form, goals to shoot for, etc.

Thanks so much!

  1. do lots of yoga after running and eat 5 small healthy meals daily...see yourself in the mirror after 2 months and be amazed!

  2. Well, I'm a decent runner, although, currently I'm adding on muscle mass and laying off the jogging/running for a while.

You should definitely get good running shoes to reach your potential and avoid discomfort.  The best brand for running shoes are ASICS.  You can buy it at your local shoe store and ask which ones fit your needs.

When running, try and focus on not giving up and something calm and relaxing.  Your goals should be improving your heart's condition, burning some fat, and living an overall healthier lifestyle.

Make sure before and after running that you are properly hydrated, you can also take a small sugary snack right before, like a banana, to give you an energy boost.

Here is a sight all about proper form when running:

    Best of luck!

  3. Hello.!

    Well,

    Firstly...

If you really push yourself to run like a mile or 2,

next time it will be soo much easier...

So if you build it up a bit more every time...

    You should get fast results!

Don't drink to much water before...

    But do pre-hydrate...

Oh and don't drink water by itself...But a little drop of dyloutable juice in it, cause the small amount of sugar in it gives you a boost, and then plain water just helps you hydrate!

    Good Luck!

    :)

  4. About all I can say is to stick with it.  I would also say that you should go out and run regardless of the weather.
