Beginner photography- Buying a new camera?

i want to buy a new camera for a high school photography class. but i also want to use it for personal uses. i will be taking pictures of landscape and maybe some people. i am looking to print in black and white ( more vintage look).

  1. Is your photography class digital? :(

    Get a used Canon XTi or XT and the 50mm f1.8 lens.


  2. For a high school Photo class, you will probably need a DSLR?

    Unless they want you to use a film camera?

    For a good DSLR, stay with Nikon, Canon, or Olympus.

    They are good cameras, with an good assortment of lens.

  3. Canon rebel xti! Cheapest and greatest one out there! It is not film [print out your own], it is digital but you can buy great lenses to fit onto it. I am going into highschool and it works GREAT. Just... read the manual =)
