I am going to buy a road bike by the end of the week, and was wondering if there was anything in the $225 and under range that would be decent for starters......here is the one i was thinking about, based on reviews, and the price(i also get discount since i work there...lol) let me know what you think, or if there are any better ones for the money. Thanks again.

  1. Well at least its better then the Denali.  The big thing is to learn how to make adjustments and keep it tuned up.

  2. Do not buy from walmart. Especially that bike. It doesn't even have STI shifters.

  3. Any road bike you can get at this price is definitely a POS.

EDIT:  Go in to one of your local professional bike shops.  Tell them what you are needing and your price range.  Then ask them to start looking for a good used trade in.  Often there will be people who start out with an entry level good quality bike for about 600 to 700 dollars and then soon decide to trade up to a higher quality bike.  You may be able to get a good entry level bike with relatively low miles for 400 or so.  Also, look on Ebay for a used bike nearby you where you can go look at it before you buy it.  Any entry level bike by say Trek, Felt, Giant, Specialized that is in good shape should do just fine for you and keep you at about a 300 to 400 price range if it is a couple of years old.  Good luck.
