When I ollie, the nose of my board goes really high, and the tail only lifts up a couple inches.

How do I ollie higher, and keep it more even?

  1. When u slide your foot to pop it up, slide it further towards the nose causing the tail to come up.

  2. dont worry thats kinda normal, what you need to do is start with one foot on the rear and one foot half way and you need to simultaneously pop the back and slide your foot thats half way all the way to the nose of the board

  3. To ollie higher, you may want to look into risers.  These are little platforms that go on your board between your board and the base of the trucks.  Hard risers allow you to ollie higher, and soft risers take a bit of the shock of of jumps and may add a little bit to your height.

Now for technique, as your nose lifts higher than your tail, make sure you slide your foot at an angle to not only ollie, but be pushing the nose down a bit while doing it, this will level out the board.

    Good luck.

  4. keep practicing, you need to get a feel for pushing down your front foot earlier to drop the nose and raise the tail.  It comes with practice...

It is a balancing act, just keep at it and work on the timing of dropping that front foot... it will raise the tail of the board.

  5. practice makes perfect!

  6. when your up in the air push you front foot down, but not too hard or you'll lose balance and eat it
