Beginner snowboarder needin help?

is the burton blunt snowboard a good beginner board???

Its an all right beginner freestyle board, but your basically paying  50 dollars more for the burton brand.  You should save some money and buy something similar such as the ride kink, ride agenda or even k2 WWW. its all about personal preference bro.

You don't say what kind of riding you want to do, but honestly, a freestyle board isn't the easiest board to learn on. You would be better off to choose a directional board with some offset (feet set back on the board) - it will help you learn to turn and carve. When you are better, you may want a specialized park / jib board.

I would recommend the Ride Control as a first board - on a summer clearance you can find it for under $200

Its pretty easy to ride and turn and learn the basics on, but its basically a jib board so not the best if you plan on eventually riding powder or riding/carving fast. If you want to do more rails and jib riding then it would be a good choice but i personally think for begineers its best to go for an all mountain board as you dont always end up doing the type of riding you think you will be into. Some good entry level all mountain boards are Gnu Carbon High Beam, Forum Recon, Burton Clash, Nitro Revolt, K2 Select, Good luck.

The Burton Blunt is a great for the beginner looking to advanced toward the park. It is a true twin with a negative core profile, so it is definitely freestyle oriented. If you are looking for something a little more versatile and want to stick with Burton, maybe pick up a Clash or an Air instead.
