I'm 5' 2'', 100lbs and 13. I'm just starting snowboarding... where can I get a cheap snowboard? Also, what size should I get?

So far, I've been told a 143 should be okay...do you agree?

  1. 143 would be perfect. As for a cheap board. Shop around for a bit. Sport Chek sells average boards, for good cheap prices. Once you pick out a board, make sure to check the specifications for the board, to make sure it's right for you

  2. A 143 will work. You want the board to come up to your chin or so . Some like a longer board and some short. The best place to find a good starter would be a second hand sports shop, online, or even go to your local snowboard shop and explain you want  to get started, they should be able to help you out.

  3. just get the recommended size board ... by the way, i would skateboard first for several months, it cheaper, can be used year round and the concepts are the very same with snowboarding, consider skateboard a stepping stone to snowboarding
