  1. I don't have any idea of a good place in washington but if you go to my myspace blog, i am always posting  references about tai chi. i think you might find them interesting. My Myspace URL is listed below. I hope it will help you. Good luck with your quest

  2. 24 Combined style or the Yang Style. If you are near Seattle - The Chinese Shao-Lin Center

  3. You learn whatever is being taught in your location.

Yang style Tai Chi is the most widely taught form.

Look it up in the Yellow Pages under "Martial Arts."

If you want to learn Tai Chi as a martial art, find a school that also teaches "push hands." Push hands is the next step after learning a form. You practice with a partner and learn the self defense applications of Tai Chi.

  4. tai chi chuan is the best. there are also forms that involve fans and swords. those are cool too. good luck.

  5. I don't live near Washington, but any style of Tai Chi you learn will benefit you. I have been study Zhao Bao Tai Chi for 2 years and it has benefited me greatly.

BTW, to the person who said Push hands is for defense, it is not. Push hands is more for balance benefits, and really has no defensive moves. Most Tai Chi teacher will teach a self defense portion of it, along with Push hands.
