Beginners skateboard for a child?

My son who just turned 7 wants a skateboard. I've been looking online but I'm confused on what to get. Can any skateboarders out there help me out. I see that there are different sizes according to how big you are so, he's 48" tall and wears a child's size 1 shoe.

Any suggestions on what brand, size, etc. type board we should get him as a beginners board that's not too expensive.

Thanks!

  1. ok...i have been sk8ing 4 a while so i know some pretty good boards.  you dont want 2 get him something 2 fancy but u don't want 2 get him a piece of c**p.  so i suggest that u either get him a world industries board or a blind.  those are 2 fairly cheap companies but are very good beginner boards. so i hope this helps!

    PS: I NEED 10 POINTS!!!!!

  2. go to zumies ask them for a small board my cousin got one and she has every thing the same as ur son and its from zumies just the bad thing is that they cost $100 or over cause of how good they are just don tlet him jump in the middle of it , it would break but not the wal mart ones. the walmart ones i think only have one size witch is kinda big and hevy. but i sugest zumies thier the best skateing place. but u need to titeen the baring or it will be tose new skooter things that came out. HOPE THIS HELPED:-)

  3. Well, since he's just starting out, of coarse you don't want to get him some fancy-shmancy board. But at the same time, you don't want to get him a terrible one, for they break easily and your kid could get hurt. So, a 7.3-7.5 inch wide board would be good, everything else won't matter until he decides to replace parts and/or decides to take skateboarding seriously (I think I spelled seriously wrong... sorry :P). So anyway, one thing you can do is you to your local sports shop, preferably Sports Authority. Go to the skateboard section, and ask for a World Industries Board size 7.5. Of coarse, stores like that don't really specialize in skateboards, so just go the the skateboard section and grab a World Industries board. I think they cost around $30, and they're not that bad. The bearings go slow, so there's a less chance he'll get hurt. If they don't have World Industries, grab a Birdhouse, Pig, or a Speed Demons board. So basically, what I'm saying is go to a Sports Shop, grab any skateboard, and it should suffice. Sorry this is so confusing, I have a bad way with words :D

  4. ok try www.blackholeboards.com   i suggest a 7.0-7.5 inch wide board. for a beginner try a world industries brand deck, tensor trucks, and bones wheels if your okay with the price.

  5. Ok if your ok with with the prices here are some good skateboards. They are completes which means you dont need anything really to skate them. They are mini boards so they are probably just for him. If to expensive you may have to go with a world industries board they are pretty not soo well but you might get something out of them and he may like it! they are heavy tho but hes small so he probably wont do any tricks yet so that ok!
