Beginning golfer?

Question

I am getting into golf and want to know what all I need to know and get? I have found all of my local golf courses and now just need to get the equipment. What all should I pick up? I am a left handed golfer but I don't know if that factors into to much. What all do I need and need to know?

IMO, find some at a yard sale. Hand me downs are perfect for starters. You wouldn't want to spend $2500 on clubs when you might give up.

You will need some gloves for protection. Golf clothes aren't a must, just be sure to have a nice collar shirt and good khaki shorts and/or pants. Hats/visors aren't necessary.

I suggest you go to a practice range and give it your best go. Then get a lesson from an expert, or someone who knows what they're doing. Just be aware, don't play on a real course just yet. Build your skills before you have a go at that.

Being left handed it will be hard to do so.  But i would recommend finding an old set of clubs, or a cheap set of new clubs.  You will probably need 3 iron to pitching wedge.  A 3 wood, 5 wood, and a driver.  You will also need to get some balls.  You can get a bag of used ones at most department stores.

Start going to Courses or just practicing in your back yard. Remember PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!! I mean putting,Tee-shots, Chips and all! And watch golf on TV for tips and techniques and stuff!
