Beginning runner. How to start?

Hi! I took a stroller class yesterday and the instructor had us running the track. While I hurt like crazy today, it's that good kind of hurt. I only managed 1/2 mile non-stop, but would like to build up to at least 1 1/2 miles. What's the best way to go about this? How do I start? Any tips/suggestions would be helpful. I already walk about 2-3 miles a day and am in fair shape. THANKS!!

  2. There is a beginners running program called the Couch to 5k. It starts you out at nothing and eventually gets you from running nothing to 3 miles. It's a great program and it works.
