Stoke City goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Asmir-Begovic-c6841, has turned down the rumours that he is favouring a move to a bigger club in January, claiming that he was more than happy at the Britannia Stadium.
The Bosnian International has recently emerged in some media reports, linking him to the English topflight teams of Manchester United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043.
The Potters goal-guard has been in phenomenal form, conceding just 12 goals in 15 league matches. During this period, he made a staggering 42 saves and kept 7 clean sheets.
Begovic, who joined Stoke City in February 2010 for a 3.25 million pounds transfer fee, has still got four years left on his contract with the Potters.
Despite drawing interest from some of the best teams in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, the 25-year revealed that he plans on spending a long career at the Britannia Stadium.
He said that he was totally focused on helping his side do well this season, and termed all the reports of his exodus from Stoke as mere speculations.
However, he confessed that he was delighted upon having caught the attention of big clubs, insisting that it was an indicator of the hard work that he has put over the years.
“As far as I know, it's all speculation. It's always nice when the biggest teams in the world are looking at you,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“It's a compliment, but it doesn't mean anything. We keep our feet on the ground here and the manager wouldn't let that change. I have three-and-a-half years on my contract and I am concentrating on playing, staying in the team, and trying to help the team
be successful.”
“I am happy here so there are no issues with that.”
Stoke currently occupy the ninth slot in the league standings, having amassed 21 points from their 15 games and are just 4 points behind the Europa League slot.
