Behavior of my betta male fish in breeding, please help?

my betta fish was only interested in wrapping himself to the female and did not care for the eggs, is he going to be like that for the rest of his life? what can i do to change his behavior in terms of breeding? how long should i wait until i breed him again? please help...

  1. The only thing that is really serious is the fact that you a completely inexperienced breeder are trying to breed betta fish.

    I am appalled by this question and only chose to answer in hopes of enlightening you. You should NOT attempt to breed anything until you have researched. And apparently you have not done your part.

    First of all you have two different strain of fish breeding together which will produce undesirable offspring and no breeder or petstore will pay you any kind of price for them. So what are you going to do with 100+ babies? Keep them all?

    But even if you did have an acceptable breeding pair did you condition them for breeding first? Probably not from the sound of it you went and bought two pretty fish and decided to breed them.

    Did you know irradecent color not matching the base color is undesirable?

    If you had any knowledge about breeding betta fish you would know the female should be REMOVED after she releases her eggs, or she will eat them.
