Okay, so im going to china sometime in the future, and i was wondering if the designer purses, are knock-offs or not in the silk market??

Yes they are knock offs and you can tell the quality is not that good.  My sister-in-law came back with some knock off Gucci bags and you can tell that the stitching was not that good.

Whether or not a designer purse is authentic can generally be determined by where you're buying it. Everything in the silk market and similar markets are fake. I'd avoid those kinds of shopping areas unless you want poor quality, over-priced junk.

But if you go to a decent mall, it's easy to find real designer items. My personal favorite is the Guo Mao China World Shopping Mall. Xidan's a fun area to shop too.

Not all designer purses are knockoffs. Just the ones that you buy for a good bargain. China makes a lot of knockoffs. They'll tell you its real. Bargain hard. They always knock up the price at LEAST 30% for non-asians.
