  2. Sorry, I can't help, I'm searching for this music myself. I think it's beautiful and very inspiring. Great music to accompany the awards ceremonies.

Have you found out if it's available anywhere, and if so, where?

    Thanks!

  3. In line with the practice of previous Olympic and Paralympic Games, four pieces of music were created for the medal ceremonies, said Zhao Dongming, director of the Cultural Activities Department of BOCOG at a press conference at Beijing's Main Press Center.

The compositions include the 25-second introductory melody played before the medal ceremony, the music played as winners march in, the music played during the course of the ceremony and the tune to which athletes will march out. All of these songs will be played during the presentation of medals for the 302 Olympic events and 472 Paralympic events. Zhao also briefed reporters on introductory music for sports exhibitions of the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games.

    Famous composer Tan Dun

Three composers were present at the press conference: well-known Chinese composers Tan Dun and Wang Hesheng and Swedish pianist Robert Wells. Tan created most of the pieces of music, Wang gave birth to the melody played when athletes walk to center stage during medal ceremonies and Wells took part in composing the introductory music for sports exhibitions.

Zhao remarked that Tan created a harmonious integration of sounds from ancient Chinese serial bells and jade music stones to create a grand and solemn atmosphere for successful athletes. "Compared with the music of medal ceremonies from previous Olympic Games, Tan's music fully demonstrates the characteristics of Chinese culture," Zhao said.

Recordings of all music works were played for the press.

As part of a BOCOG campaign to seek music for the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games, the solicitation of music for medal ceremonies drew great interest from Chinese and foreign composers. An expert panel made the final decision from 21 short-listed entries, and the final works were approved by leading BOCOG officials.

  5. I'm guessing that you mean Molihua (it means Jasmine Flower in Chinese) as it was arranged for the Olympics by composer Tan Dun. The following official video shows the orchestra during their practice/recording session.
