  1. That's the home court advantage they deserve, just like the hosts in the past.

  2. And you're making this decision based on your long background in Olympic gymnastic judging...correct?

The new scoring system is totally different from the old system. 1/3 of the points are now the result of difficulty level, while the other 2/3 is how well someone performs a technique (execution).

For example, in yesterday's women's gymnastics:

It was on the highest difficulty, and Cheng scored 15 something...which is a bad score.

    For example:

    6.5 difficulty (max) + 10 execution (max) = 16.5 max

If you do everything right and mess up the landing, you get less than a single point deducted.

For Cheng Fei's case, she had around 1 point deducted because of the fall...which explains why her score was in the low 15's.

The only dumb 'judge result' was the decision to award the gold to China in the tie between China & the USA because China had scores closer to 10's. They should've just had an overtime match.

  3. I have to say it has crossed my mind, but I'm no scoring expert.

  4. ya.... there little deduction points are not being deducted for there score... only the big major ones... but there would be no question that the chinese girl that fell on vault last night would of been out of the medals if ALL the deductions that she had were acounted for....

but the 13 i mean "16" year old that was 13 9 month ago won the uneaven bars but i dont know she tied with the americans but she got first according to the scores on nbc this is ridiculus.. it a shamn china has to cheat like this... a respected silver is alot better then a cheated gold.... its funny because they prob wud of done fine if the played right.....

i cant wait till london olympics and see the chinese team.. ill laugh if He xian is 17 year old

  5. I don't know, but they look a lot younger than they say they are :P
