Beijing Olympics Lip Syncing?

Don't you think its messed up that the 9 year old girl was lip syncing because she was prettier than the 7 year old girl? Just because the 7 year old girl has chubby cheeks and crooked teeth doesn't mean she shouldn't be seen. What's your opinion on this incident?

  1. Its the same as anything here. look at the gong show for instance... they always pick the least talented shirtless bimbow over rad stuff. The olympics have always had there problems... from the use of steroids... to an HIV infected swimmer who died from a flopped back flip and breaking his neck... And why focus on some girl lip synching when we should focus on them bordering up all the poor people that last time i remember that happening there was a halocaust. And besides that little girl was adorable dont you think?

  2. When i read that in the newspaper i was pretty upset. I thought it was totally unfair. if i was the little girls parents i would be totally mad. i think the 7 year old has right to be seen and known for her beautiful voice. she is really good for a 7 year old.

  3. riiiight, like there's no lip syncing in here in the US...*ahem* Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears...

    Give China a break.

When your celebrities lip sync you could care less but when a little Chinese girl does it, you go effing nuts and start hatin. Racist?

  4. it's the chinese. what do you expect.

just look at their government. sadly, it didn't surprise me.

  5. I thought it was pretty pathetic. Yeah so what, the girl had a rounder face and some crooked teeth, but I still thought she was cute. Yes, China wanted to make a good impression which most countries do, but they are getting too out of line on 'perfection' - no one is perfect.

  6. yeah it was messed up. it does not really matter how you look if you could sing good. did you know that there were also some other fake things in the olympics like fake id's. if you want to read some more here is a website I found:http://www.athlists.com/?p=36

  7. I think we should have boycotted in the first place.  It definitely doesn't surprise me coming from China.

  8. The Governers enforeced it once they saw her don't go crazy over this itty bitty detail. Like come on lip singing... britney spears , people on youtube and Ryan HIga + Sean Higa... though it might be alittle bad seriously jus dont go CrAzY and yes i think that it is bad that the girl is replaced by a cuter girl  for perfection or something ,but nobody's perfect . d=^-^=b

  9. I just heard about the idea of having the 7-year-old sing in the closing ceremonies, and I think that would be a great way to honor her!  I'm not upset towards the 9-year-old because it probably wasn't her idea to pretend to sing.  Some adult out there should feel really bad.

Imperfections are part of what makes people attractive.  I thought the younger girl was very cute.

  10. That little girl must of felt horrible. Thats mean but she's singing in the closing ceremonies so I guess that almost justifies it.

  11. It's sad that they are following the ideals of the entertainment business but this situation is what I called a bump on a mosquito's booty.

I think most Chinese in the mainland is pushing the organizers to have the backstage girl in the closing ceremony to sing again. Although the press has already giving her famous status; I think singing in the closing ceremony might warm her own heart and the world.

  12. Britney Spears lipsyncs all the time, so it doesn't really bother me that much that lip syncing happened in and of itself.  What bothers me is the fact that they replaced the ugly singer with the pretty girl.

  13. same thing happened to milli vanilli

  14. My hubby said it's all about the image. =)

  15. Not a good thing for sure..but remember...China is a bourbaning world power and becoming an extremely powerful world market...they have truly only opened up themselves capitolistic wise to the rest of the world since the 80's.  There are still many deep roots to the old ways...they are in an infancy stage of open development that a lot of the rest of world takes for granted...while not appreciative of a lot of what their government does or stands for...it is with a grain of understanding that I think we need to give them...they are breaking out of their chysalis so to speak...I think a long process...but so far so good.

  16. i think having your voice on the olympics is already really special
