Is it just me and my friends or has anyone become completely obsessed with it?! lol We realised this today after a 3 hour long convo about it.

But, oh MY god Michael Phelps is the most amazing man i've ever seen in my life. lol

I am obsessed with avoiding it because I am boycotting it and its sponsors.

The only information I have is that which I cannot avoid because it is a part of news reports.

edit:

If these games are so hugely successful that all events are "sold out" - why are there so many empty seats? Why are the visitor numbers to Beijing hugely down over previous summers? How come there are so many empty beds in the hotels?

If this "hugely successful" games might be even a slight predictor for London, what a total and utter waste of money that is going to prove to be.

Yes I agree with you and most of the other contributors that these games have been fantastic. The swimming has been spellbinding, the Gymnastics unbelievable and the rowing riveting. Super Saturday (& Sunday) will be a golden day for team GB. At least eight gold medals for our boys and girls is my prediction - could be more. We will overtake every other Euro nation and reach no. 3 in the medal table. London 2012 will be the best of them all, with GB dominating cycling, swimming, rowing, sailing and equestrian - and of course our speciality event - 'moaning about the weather'.

When they first started showing it last friday i was like great i don't wanna watch this c**p!

But 4 days ago there was nothing on tv so i sat and watched it and now...

IM ADDICTED TO IT!

The Olympics is universal so it is talked about a lot. I do watch it when I get the chance although most of the sports are quite boring. I'm glad I've gotten to see Michael swim a few times.

I'm wondering how London is going to top this one.

Ya I love the Olympics too. I also admire what michael phelps has achieved so far. What a GREAT swimmer. Really hope he will get EIGHT gold medal in this olympics.
