Being a caddie?

Uhmmm lets say I want a job as a caddie. Now I know that things will vary depending on where I get the job. But does anyone know the average hours? [ I think you have to get up mad early..] and how much does the average caddie get paid?

Caddies, typically, at a private club, will work 1 shift in the mornings on weekdays and 2 shifts on weekends.  The shifts are generally of around 6 hours (5 hour round, plus a little extra).  They are on payroll and given a stipend amount, better than minimum wage, probably around 40 dollars a round  But the real money is made on tips.  A friend of mine who is a caddy often makes over 350 dollars part time (5 days, wed-sun) mostly through tips.  His biggest tip this ever was 150 dollars from a guy who had alot of trouble playing, he gave him a swing tip, and the guy ended up shooting his best round ever.  

    Yes you will have to get up early.  Most likely 430 in the summer and 530 in the winter.  Plan to be at the course 25 minutes before sunrise.


  2. I have a job as a caddy and get paid $30 a round plus tips.  The rounds vary in length but take about 4 to 5 hours for 18 holes.  You are aloud to work whenever you want, and their is no required hours.
