Being a foreign exchange student?

I currently live in Blue Diamond, Nevada. I have asked my mom and my dad if I could become a foreign exchange student maybe in the next year or two, surprisingly, they said yes! I checked online and I have always noticed that it's always like 5 months! I don't really want to stay anywhere for 5 months...2 tops! Is there any websites that have any information on this?I am interested in going to Germany, Switzerland, France, and Denmark.

I'm italian and in two months I'll going to USA as an exchange student. I'll stay there for 10 months. Anyway it is possible to have a shorter stay like 1 or 2 months. There are many associations which gave students the possibility to study abroad while in high school. Amongst them there are: AFS (www.afs.org), WEP (www.wep.org) and EF (www.ef.com).
