  1. WHERE I WORK THEY ANSWERE THE PHONE... SEAT PEOPLE.. HELP PEOPLE WITH QUESTIONS IF WE ARE ON A WAIT.. ROLL SILVERWARE IF WE ARE BUSY  .. TAKE RESERVATIONS ..

  2. My first job was a hostess...I worked for coco's and they provided the uniform. You had to buy the shoes...and as a hostess, you answered the phone sat people and took cash and sold the pies and muffins...very busy ...and you also got the grunting of customers that were not happy..but it had it's rewards....now at another place I was the bartender, and the hostess, just sat people and cleaned tables as well...and that is all they had to do...so some places have it easier than others...gotta start somewhere...

  3. Possible duties could include....

    greeting customers

seating people (rotating for the servers)

    cashiering

    answering phones

    taking "to go" orders

    cleaning tables

it's a great way to learn the ins and outs of a place and become a server to earn a lot more money!!

    Good Luck!!

  4. As a host, you are the person that the guest first sees when they first walk into the restaurant and the last person they see. You may make or break their experience. At the restaurant i work at, we seat people and answer phones, but we also take care of rolling silverware and counting how many tables we have in the restaurant. We also take to-go orders. Most places will give you a uniform or a dress code, and its VERY important to get non-slip shoes.
