Being a vet?

ok im 15 and i know im going to be a vet so im going into my last year in secondary school next year and i need to know what i need to be a vet

the problem is i live in spain and here they dont have GCSE or A levels so when i go to sixth form i do 10 subjects

any advice

and by the way when im 18 im moving to england and i will study to be a vet there

  1. There shouldn't be a problem getting into one of the Uni's here. They will look at your application in relation to what you have done in spain. They will tell you certain grades or marks you need to et in that are specific to spains education system! So just ask one of the uni's here that do veterinary medicine - I think there are 6 in the UK - and just ask what the entry requirements are for international students!

    Some do a gateway year which is a year before you start the actual course which can get you up to standard! I have quite a few friends at vet schools so I hear about it none stop!!!


  2. The advice about asking for information from Vet schools at specific universities is good. Don't forget to try and get lots of experience working with animals - including large animals. Also try to keep up with any controversial issues and topical issues - you will probably have to have an interview before they accept you. It would also be a good idea to get work experience with one of your local vets. Good luck!
