Question:

Being able to tell what stereo is installed in your car by the wires?

My b/f's car was broken into and they yanked the stereo out and cut all the wires. The insurance company says that they want him to bring his car to this place and have the guys there inspect the wiring. They said that you can tell by the wires what kind of stereo you had. Is this true? Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?

  1. YOu are not the only one,I have ever met the similiar problem before.I have good experience here though.http://insurance.free-onlinetip.info/ins...

  2. It's faintly possible, but unlikely.  If the stolen radio's plug was still in place, it could be identified; but if all you have left is loose wire ends then all they'd have to go on would be wire color...and just about all after-market deck manufacturers have used similar wire colors for the past several years.

  3. No they can't tell what kind of stereo was in the car by the left over wires.  The only thing they will be able to tell is if it was a factory radio or an aftermarket radio.
