Attractive people get more things, get out of things, and get farther in life?

at my place of work my boss told us straight up that he wouldn't hire someone that really ugly because it makes the place look bad! he also told me that attractive people are more likely to advance in their place of work, because nobody wants a not so good looking person in their place of business!

being attractive (specifically women) can get you out of speeding tickets? this happened to me just the other day i apologized to the police officer he flirted with me, and told me that he was going to let me go, because i was a nice girl who didn't cause any harm (nice as in nice looking i am assuming).

also every time i go to dunkin' donuts and order a coffee, the guys that works at the window always says things like "this one is on me, your too cute to pay for this" or "don't worry sweetie i got this for your fine self"

is this a bad thing or should we embrace our given beauty?

  1. I don't understand why you wanted to ask this?

Did you just want to brag or what cuz I don't see a question.

Should we embrace our beauty? Duh?! Be glad you're beautiful, but it doesnt give you a bragging right.

  2. u should totally embrace ur given beauty.  i mean some ppl would love to b in ur situation.  so don't feel bad about it!

  3. No one is pretty or ugly.

It's based on other people's opinions.

One person may find you attractive, another might think you're the ugliest person alive (nothing personal, lol).

    People have different tastes.

Your boss is really stupid for not realizing that.

  4. I think you should get over yourself!

  5. Wow...aint you only lovin urself!

  6. it sounds to me like you think your hot stuff and are better then everyone else.

that attitude wont get you very far in life so you might want to change that now.

  7. I don't think this is true at all... but maybe it's because I live in San Francisco, and the stereotypical idea of "beauty" means next to nothing, and intelligence and individuality are key.

The way a person looks has a LOT to do with how they will be treated in life, but it's not always good-looking people that get the breaks. Sometimes pretty girls are dismissed as being automatically idiotic, and sometimes hot guys are dismissed as being "pretty boys". Homely people are automatically assumed to be kind, intelligent, etc. Plus, without having people do stuff for you/give stuff to you all the time, they don't grow up with a sense of entitlement like good-looking people are often thought to do.

In my experience, it really doesn't matter what people look like. There are TONS of beautiful people who are down-to-earth and intellectually gifted, just as there are tons of normal people who are just as much so. Similarly, there are lots of good-looking people who are complete morons, just as there are mediocre-looking people who are just as stupid.

More than anything, your internal make-up and response to the treatment you receive from people will constitute who you are, and therefore where you go in life. Looks are just a small factor in comparison.

  8. of course it's not a bad thing!

take advantage of the good things you have! :]

  9. nooo i think that you should be angry with your beauty..what the heck kind of a question is this. This is not a "lets share my stories" website." I think the question has a pretty obvious answer.

  10. ur beauty only lasts for so long so take full advantage of it

  11. yea its nice being beautiful, it's sure better than being ugly. I wouldn't give u anything for free idc how pretty u are.
