Being bilingual?

I'll be a college freshman in the fall of this year, and I'm going to major in Communications with a concentration in Speech and Hearing Science. I intend to switch from my high school language of Spanish to Korean, which I signed up for but got waitlisted.

On my placement exam, I placed out of Spanish 101 into Spanish 150, but the subject is a little exasperating for me. However, I do plan to minor in Spanish.

Other than Spanish obviously.....what would be a good foreign language for a speech-language pathologist (speech therapist) to be fluent in and why?

  1. Sign language.  Seriously.  There aren't that many people who know it, unless they or a family member is hearing impaired.

  2. Chinese or Russian. It will come in handy.Though Spanish is on target.
