  1. When you can watch a movie or at least have a conversation with someone and understand most of things being said. Try translating short stories or pages and if you can translate 80% or more of it you're fluent.

    Definition:

Able to speak a foreign language accurately and with confidence

  2. You are fluent 1) When you have lost your inhibitions of speaking another language and 2) People are not asking back "what did you say".

  3. When you can converse with people comfortably w/o losing words(meaning you have a good set of  vocabs) and when you can read and write.

  4. When you start thinking in the language. You pass the stage where you're constantly searching for the right word to say and you're at the stage where you can actually match words and phrases to what you're thinking.

It takes a lot of practice, but it's possible to get there.

  5. you can tell when you can speak it fluently if you talk without saying "uhh", and you can still have an accent though

  6. When you know the difference between "your" and "you're".  And when you can carry on a conversation with ease, work and conduct your business fully on an everyday basis in that language.

  7. Fluency means being able to keep a conversation flowing, without needing to stop for misunderstandings or to think of the right word to use.

  8. I don't that you're fluent by translating texts or for knowing grammar. That counts as well, but being fluent is the ability to have a normal conversation in another language.

I'm portuguese, I suck writing english ( as you can see ) but I'm very 'fluent'. It doesn't mather if you say something wrong once in a while, it happens to you in your on language right ??

If you think you can have conversation, understand what they say to you, deal with vocabulary and express yourself then you're fluent. Im doing Cambridge exams for english wich envolves a speaking test, which is a conversation. There might be some for spanish as well .Surf the net and you may find something.

Spanish is easy I go there all the time on my holidays and it seems quite easy.
