Im on the 7day break of the pill for the first time. I came off the pill on friday and on saturday night began bleeding, the bleeding is just like my normal period, which is about a normal-heavy amount. Im having some stomach cramps and lower back pain. is this normal for the first few months of the pill or could it mean that im pregnant? Everytime ive had s*x ive used condoms and my boyfriend has pulled out before. So i dont see anyway i could be pregnant, but is this a typical pill period??? :)

  1. If I were you i would go to the doctor just to be on the safe side... You can have you period while you are pregnant, I had a period the first 2 months of my first pregnancy!

  2. When i went on the pill.. i had my period for a whole month!!

    It was awful!!

So your sounds like just the typical period.

  3. Thats very typical period full stop :)

You can't be pregnant if you have a period. The period is the lining of the uterus coming away - the egg needs this lining to grow.

Lower back pain is common in periods, i always get lower back pain, but maybe the pill changed things for you.

But yes, it's totally normal, so don't worry :)

  4. No 2 individuals are the same. The pill on it's own is 99.8% effective. as far as condoms are concerned they are going to add little to contraceptive efficacy, but they do reduce the STI risk. Adding withdrawal to this already belt and braces approach is really just silly and unnecessary.

I am sure you are not pregnant, not all women have reduced periods or less period problems on the pill I am afraid.

  5. Yeah thats sounds fine, I have been on the pill for 13 years I still get bad cramps and lower back/bum pains.

Be careful u can still pregnant from your chap pulling out

If in doubt take a test

*** Cool just checking as my mates have been caught out before - thinking if he wears nothing and pulls out it will be fine

If your worried tests are about a £5, ive been there before and i know how stressful it can be, it sounds fine but it will put ur mind a rest xx *** Goodluck xx

  6. Hi, this is perfectly normal for the first few months of the pill. As long as you have been taking the pill as directed (not missing any) then you have 98.8% contraceptive cover.

  7. dont worry, absolutely normal. you may always have pains. when your on the pill your periods are fake, they are just to ensure you that your still normal. they may get lighter, or less painful and if you have a continuous period its just your body adapting. you may also get break through bleeding which basically means your bleeding when your on the pill. its very unlikely you ll be pregnant if your reliable, if not keep you pill by your toothbrush or something your likely to do everyday(make up, hairbrush). also using condoms on top of that means its pretty impossible you ll fall pregnant, just chill
