Being over here in America, how can I help the protesters in Myanmar with their cause of freedom?

I don't know, but I remember having a pair of Nike's from Myanmar, I wonder if they have switched purely to China or if they're going to suffer because of their greed?

Seriously though, there isn't a thing you can do. Yea you could organize a protest, but it won't accomplish a single thing except making you feel good about yourself. If you really want to help, find a way to finance the opposition and some arms dealers that will deal with them. IF you can do that, you definitely accomplished something.

Not likely though.

It would help if you get a bit over there first.

Our Govt have spy drones everywhere and high definition cameras with night vision and infra red sensors and stuff which they dont have in the "dictatorship" of Burma.

So while they can go home at night and come back to protest next day, we will be picked up at home at night. This is why we dont protest and this is the reality of Big Brother in the Western World.

Wise up! "Dictatorship" is about control of the people. A Dictator is not effective if he has no control. The Govt is fooling people(not me) by saying "Dictator". Most people in third world countries DO NOT SEE A POLICEMAN IN MONTHS!!!

You could protest outside the UN building in New York, but they would not listen to you, but you could make it on international news.

Pray to God ,that the tyranny regime should fall apart.

Miltary should remain in the barrack.

Same goes to Thailand & Pakistan . Pray that the all miltary government should fall

Frustrating as h**l, isn't it? I just want to shake the govt over there. But without any oil in Myanmar, those poor people could all be massacred and no one here will ever lift an official finger. Besides, we're too busy fighting the Crusades, and making it safe for China to ship us lead painted toys for our kids.

Join Free Burma pressure groups - join Amnesty and Human Rights Watch to keep the pressure up on the junta.

Lobby against China and India for helping to prop up the regime.

Incidentally the name of the country is Burma - Myanmar was selected by the junta after independence from us Brits. The general belief is once a democratically elected government allows the people to decide what they want to call their country then the world will respect that.

It is odd that USA is one of the few countries that actually uses the name Myanmar.
