How can I prepare for an emergency situation in an office environment?

  1. Just a few things I can think of right off hand:

    Make sure everyone in your office knows where the fire extinguishers are and all exits are located. Also make sure they know how to use the fire extinguishers. You'd be surprised how many don't have a clue how to use them.

    Make sure you have a basic first aid kit in the office. Find out who in your office knows CPR and make sure everyone knows these contact people. And obviously keep the emergency phone #'s for Police Dept., Fire, Rescue by the phones. Make sure everyone in the office knows where these #'s are posted and post the Office phone # and address (some people tend to forget the obvious in emergency situations).
