Question:

Being scared over nothing and need help

I'll be alone in my house and hear something move so I'll search my house top to bottom and find nothing, and I know it wasn't the house cracking or a neighbor shutting his car door. I was wondering if anybody else had the same problem and what you did to solve this. Cause I'm tired of being freaked out by nothing.

  1. This has happened to me before (many times) and I usually make sure that all of the doors and windows are locked. Along with knowing where my dog is, this has helped me a lot, knowing that I have at least somewhat of a defense against an intruder.

You should try and listen and see what kind of sound it is, sometimes, there are just unusual sounds, that cannot be explained. You'll hopefully learn to get use to it and ignore it but if you still cannot get use to the random noises, then I'd suggest you get an alarm system. So that when your alone, you won't have to worry about an intruder entering the house, without setting off the alarm.

  2. I can't sleep on my own in the dark, so i've got a dog to sleep with me and now i'm fine. I'm very much a nervous wreck in the dark too....

  3. Relax.  Paranoia is usually caused by a lack of faith either in one-self or, a higher power.  You need more self-assurance that no matter what happens, you will be able to handle it well or, that God will take care of you.  Perhaps some Karate lessons would give you more faith in yourself.  Good luck.

  4. Yep!!! I've been there and done that. I got my two dogs and when they hear something their ears will perk up and then if it's something worth checking out then they get up and I will follow them (usually) and if it's not they just go back to sleep.

But before I had them I just turned the TV up louder or radio or whatever and then I would turn one light on on every level of my house and make sure all the doors were shut/locked along with the windows. (: After doing that, I had a feeling of security and whenever there was a noise I completely ignored it!.

  5. Sounds like you need Xanax. Go to a psychiatrist. Get some anti anxiety medication.
