What do you do if you get sick at basic? Do they allow you to have bed rest for the day? Does it count against you if you end up having to miss one or 2 days of training?

  1. BE STRONG ARMY STRONG!!!

  2. If you don't have a severe injury they'll make you do the training. That's what i've been told, i could be wrong.

  3. To be released from duty for illness, you must first go to sick call and be seen by military medical personnel. They will determine how sick you are, if you need bedrest, hospitalization, or return to duty.

  4. who cares not me so ha ha h ah ah akladg hsuipuwb56ip-

  5. good question sorry i dont know the answer to it!

  6. If you miss too many days you will be washed back to the group behind you.

  7. Not sure, but I'm sure they must have a medic on duty on the base where you're stationed at and your sargent probably can answer your question about missing days of training because of illness.

  8. They have a sick call formation every day of training, they ask them to step out (FALL OUT) from formation and they go to the sick call bay or the civilian hospital on base. I missed one day of training and I had to make it up. YOU WILL MAKE IT UP

  9. If you're like most, you will get sick at basic training.  It's inevitable with so many people living in such close quarters.  You can go to sick call every morning though (maybe not sundays).  You will have to get up earlier than everybody else to make it there though.  Honestly, unless you're really sick, with a fever or something, I would recommend toughin it out and just do the training with the group.  The people that go to sick all all the time are generally looked down upon by their drill instructors and by others in your platoon.  Sick call rangers, is what we called em.  Don't be one!!  If you miss training, you will have to make it up with other batteries, and the schedule is so packed as it is, that its really hard to make up anything.  I went 3 times during my 9 weeks, and didn't have any issues with retraining. If you're really sick, then definately go, but you're graduation date can quickly get pushed back if you miss too much training, so be careful.

  10. My son was taken to the infirmary for 3 days at basic with a fever. He was fine after that and graduated on time . Remember, the drill sergeants job is to produce healthy trained soldiers. They will take good care of you.

Thanks for going in! We need you!

  11. They have sick call hours, and if you get quarters your buddy may have to chill with you, maybe not, depends on the drill SGT. Quaters is a doctor allowing you to have bed rest, but you better be really sick for them to allow that, the Drill will evalutate you and decide if you need to be recycled, I doubt if two days will recycle you, they test you and if you don;t pass you get to test again and then you get recyccled.

  12. You go to Sick-Call / Med-Call the DRs make the decision.

    Vet-USAF

  13. You go on sick call, see a doctor.  If you need to stay in bed they will arrange it, maybe at the dispensary.   If you miss too many days, the transfer you to a new more recent group of recruits commensurate with the stage of training you had reached.

  14. If you miss something like the confidence course which is a requirement for graduation, your Drill Sgts. will try to accomodate you and give you the opportunity to make it up if you happen to be on 'bed rest'  Things that aren't required of you for the graduation (a ruck march as example) won't pose any problems for you if they are missed.  They will give you bed rest if required.

  15. In AIT one of my friends got in a fight.....got kicked in the gonads.....was in bed rest for two days.....he graduated

You go on "Sick Call".....they treat you.....if you miss too much training or critical training they re-cycle you.....you graduate in a later class.....

"Riding the sick book" can create problems......you better be REALLY sick

  16. it depends on ur unit and wat the doctor says, if the doctor says to stay in bed then u do but if not  u gotta suck it up, my dad failed a test caused the doctor told him he didnt need to rest =(     good luck

    aprediate the service!!!

  17. you have to be real sick fever and then they may put you on bed rest. If sick to much then boot all over again
