Now with my new television the speakers are internal and when I increase the sound my neighbour is not very happy with me, Can I buy new speakers for my 42" LG plasma so that the sound is for my benefit and not my neighbours

  1. Yes you can. I have done it but I needed a decoder and had to run the speakers off that. Creative Labs sell good ones.

Alternatively, if it is a modern tv can't you use headphones.

  2. well a good idea is to sound proof your walls or however you say it because if you want to do something else thats loud youll have to buy more stuff.

  3. You could get a set of surround sound speakers that should work as when we had ours you could direct the sound through the back ones.

  4. The answer could be cordless headphones. my late father used them with great success

  5. The headphones other people suggested are a good idea.

If you want to make your current system work, then you need a 'source' of some description that will generate the sound to go through the home theatre system you have and be amplified by it.

Examples of source: 'sky box', 'freeview box', 'DVD player' etc.

If your TV is the source (i.e. it has freeview built in), then it may not have outputs that can be fed into the home system. Look on the TV for something labled: 'TOS link out', 'Digital out', 'Left/Right Audio Out'. If you don't have this, then you will need another source for your home cinema system.

    Hope that helps!

  6. My dad went for the speakers option from Argos, but that wasn't a great solution, (only he could hear the TV and they hurt after awhile).

Speakers wise if you have a jack for headphones, you have a jack for speakers.

Looking in the catalogue Mikomi 5.1 Home Theatre suits your needs perfectly.
